## Choose how to connect Bybit to KoinX

**API Key syncs automatically and needs no file management, recommended for most users.** Use File Upload if you need pre-2022 data or want full manual control over your history.

    ## Generate your Bybit API key

        Go to [bybit.com](https://www.bybit.com) and sign in.

    ## Connect Bybit to KoinX

        Log in to [app.koinx.com](https://app.koinx.com) → **Integrations** → **Add Integration**.

      <Step title="Select Bybit and API Key">
        Search **Bybit** → select **API Key**.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Paste keys and import">
        Enter **API Key** + **Secret Key** → click **Import Now**.
      </Step>

      **Done.** KoinX begins syncing your Bybit history. Large accounts may take a few minutes.

    Once your Bybit data is in, head over to [Tax Reports](https://app.koinx.com/tax-report) on KoinX - your capital gains, income breakdown, and ITR-ready Schedule VDA report are all waiting for you there.

    ## API key notes

    <Note>
      * **Keys expire every 3 months** - regenerate and reconnect when this happens.
      * **Last 3 days may lag** - Bybit delays very recent transactions before exposing them via API.
      * **Some past conversion trades** may not appear - this is a Bybit API limitation.

    Log in to Bybit → **Profile** → **Account** → **Data Export** - or open [Data Export](https://www.bybit.com/user/assets/exportList) directly.

            Go to **Profile** → **Account** → **Data Export** — or open [Data Export](https://www.bybit.com/user/assets/exportList) directly — and click the **Order History** tab.

            Set **Account** to `Main Account` and select all product types: `Unified Trading`, `Trading Tools`, `Lending`, `Easy Earn`.

              Select all product types — missing one means that activity won't appear in KoinX.

            Under **Time**, choose **Customize** and enter a 12-month range (e.g. `1 Jan 2023 – 31 Dec 2023`). One year maximum per file.

    ## Upload to KoinX

    <Note>
      If you used the **File Upload** tab above, follow these steps to complete your import. API Key users can skip this - your sync is already done.

        Log in to [app.koinx.com](https://app.koinx.com) → **Integrations** → **Add Integration**.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Select Bybit">
        Search **Bybit** → choose **File Upload**.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Upload all files">
        Select your Transaction Log + Order History files for all years. Multi-select works.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Submit">
        Click **Submit** - KoinX processes and imports your full history.
      </Step>

    <Check>
      **Done.** KoinX classifies transactions and prepares them for gains calculation and report generation.
    </Check>

    Your Bybit history is fully loaded - go to [Tax Reports](https://app.koinx.com/tax-report) on KoinX and your crypto tax report is ready to download.

      **Never open CSV files before uploading.** Re-download a fresh copy from Bybit if you already did.

    **KoinX Connect is a Chrome extension that automates the entire Bybit export and import process for you.** It drives the Bybit export flow in the background and uploads the files (or API keys) to KoinX automatically - you only need to complete the steps Bybit requires from a logged-in human, like 2FA.

        ## Quick steps

        <Steps>
          <Step title="Open KoinX Connect and select Bybit">
            Click the KoinX Connect extension icon in Chrome → select **Bybit** from the list of supported exchanges.

          <Step title="Choose CSV reports and set date range">
            Bybit offers two integration methods - **CSV reports** or **Tax API**. Select **CSV reports** → set your **From Date** and **To Date** → click **Start CSV Export**.

          <Step title="Log in to Bybit if prompted">
            The extension opens Bybit's Data Export page in a new tab and checks if you're logged in. If not, log in before proceeding. No other action is needed.
          </Step>

          <Step title="Wait for Bybit to generate files">
            Bybit typically takes 30-35 minutes to generate the CSV files. The extension waits and checks automatically in the background - you don't need to do anything.
          </Step>

          <Step title="Files download and upload automatically">
            Once ready, the extension downloads all CSV files and uploads them to the KoinX Integrate Bybit page. The wallet is named **Bybit-2** by default.

          <Step title="Review and submit">
            All 4 files are attached to the KoinX upload form. Review them and click **Submit** to finish.

          **Done.** KoinX processes the uploaded files and syncs your Bybit transactions. The new integration appears as **Bybit-2** on your Integrations page.

        ## What KoinX Connect automates

        <Note>
          Behind the scenes, the extension handles both required exports for you:

          * **Transaction Log** - selects the account, all transaction types supported by KoinX, and your custom date range, then clicks Export Now.
          * **Order History** - repeats the same process on the Order History tab once the Transaction Log export is submitted.

          You'll see status messages like *"STEP 1 - EXCHANGE LOGIN..."*, *"STEP 2 - TRADE REPORT: Submitting export 1/2..."*, and *"STEP 4 - KOINX UPLOAD: Looking for the file upload area..."* as each stage completes.

        ## Important alerts

        <Warning>
          * CSV export covers Asset Change Details (Spot, Fund, Contract, UTA) and Derivatives Closed PnL.
          * Bybit limits exports to 12 months per request, with a maximum of 50 exports per month.
          * File generation can take 30-35 minutes - the extension waits automatically, so just leave the tab open.

        ## Quick steps

            Bybit offers two integration methods - **CSV reports** or **Tax API**. Tax API is the recommended, fully automated method. Select **Tax API** → click **Start Tax API Integration**.

            The extension opens Bybit's Tax API page in a new tab and checks if you're logged in. If not, log in before proceeding.
          </Step>

          <Step title="Key creation begins automatically">
            The extension locates and clicks **Create a New Tax API**, with Usage set to `API Transactions` and Permissions set to `Read-Only`, then fills the API key name as `KoinX`.
          </Step>

          <Step title="Enter your Google 2FA code">
            This is the only manual step in the process. Open Google Authenticator, enter the 6-digit code for your Bybit account, and click **Submit**.
          </Step>

          <Step title="Confirm the API key modal">
            After 2FA, Bybit generates your API Key and Secret. The extension captures both automatically - the Secret is shown only once, so this happens immediately. Click **Okay** on Bybit's confirmation modal if shown.
          </Step>

          <Step title="Log in to KoinX if prompted">
            The extension switches to KoinX and loads the Integrate Bybit page. If you're not logged in, sign in - the extension waits and resumes once you're signed in.
          </Step>

          <Step title="Review and submit">
            The extension auto-fills the Wallet Name, API Key, and Secret Key. Once everything is filled, click **Import Now**.
          </Step>

          **Done.** KoinX shows *"Fetching your transactions... Please wait."* Your Bybit account is now connected and transactions will begin syncing.

        ## Important alerts

        <Warning>
          * **Transactions from the last 3 days** won't appear immediately but will be fetched later.
          * **Bot trades and copy-trading transactions** are not supported via API.
          * **Conversion trades from the past year** may be missing.
          * **API keys expire after 180 days** - you'll need to reconnect then.
          * **Sync may take a few hours** due to Bybit's rate limits.

## Frequently asked questions

    **API Key is recommended for most users.** It’s faster to set up, requires no file management, and syncs automatically. Use File Upload only if you need full history control or your account has data gaps via API.

  <Accordion title="Does Bybit API sync all my transaction types?">
    It covers Spot, Unified Trading (Futures/Perps/Options), Earn, Fiat, and Assets. Bot trading, copy trading, and transactions older than 2 years are **not** available via the Bybit API.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="How often does KoinX sync with Bybit via API?">
    KoinX fetches your Bybit data when you trigger a sync. Very recent transactions (last 3 days) may take a little longer to appear as Bybit delays them on their API end.

  <Accordion title="Can I upload multiple years of Bybit data at once?">
    Yes — and you should. Bybit limits each export to 12 months, so download one file per year and upload all of them together in KoinX in a single session.

## Troubleshooting

  <Accordion title="API key error on connection">
    Check your key in [Bybit API Management](https://www.bybit.com/app/user/api-management). Keys expire every 3 months — generate a new one and reconnect to KoinX.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Sync is taking too long">
    Bybit rate limits mean large accounts can take minutes to hours. Wait before refreshing or re-triggering the sync.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Bot or copy trading transactions missing">
    These are not supported by the Bybit API and cannot be imported via any API key method.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Export not visible in My Export yet">
    Bybit takes 1–3 days to generate export files. Wait and check back before re-exporting.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Trades missing after file upload">
    Ensure both Transaction Log **and** Order History were uploaded for every year. Any missing file leaves gaps in your import.

  <Accordion title="Upload error in KoinX">
    Re-download the original CSV files without opening them. Opening in Excel or Google Sheets corrupts the file format.
