# How to Generate Your CoinFalcon Tax Report with KoinX

## Connect CoinFalcon to KoinX

**API Key syncs your full CoinFalcon transaction history automatically - no file exports needed.**

    ## Generate your CoinFalcon API key

        Go to [coinfalcon.com](https://www.coinfalcon.com) and sign in to your account.

        Click the **profile icon** in the top right corner and select **Security**.

      <Step title="Enable API access">
        Go to **API Keys** and enable API access if it is currently disabled.

        Click **Add New Key**, configure the key settings, and set permissions to read-only.

          Grant read-only permissions only. Never enable trading or withdrawal permissions on an API key connected to a third-party service.

        Click **Save Changes**. Copy your **API Key** and store it securely.

    ## Connect CoinFalcon to KoinX

        Log in to [app.koinx.com](https://app.koinx.com) -> **Integrations** -> **Add Integration**.

      <Step title="Select CoinFalcon">
        Search for **CoinFalcon** and select it.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Paste your key and import">
        Paste your **API Key** into the field and click **Import Now**.
      </Step>

    <Check>
      **Done.** KoinX begins syncing your CoinFalcon history. Large accounts may take a few minutes.

    Once your CoinFalcon data is in, head over to [Tax Reports](https://app.koinx.com/tax-report) on KoinX - your capital gains, income breakdown, and country-specific crypto tax report are ready for you there.

      * **Read Only is required** - keys with broader permissions may be rejected by KoinX as a security measure.
      * **Label the key as KoinX** - naming the API key "KoinX" in CoinFalcon helps identify which service is using it and avoids confusion.
      * **Use Sync Now** to pull the latest CoinFalcon transactions into KoinX at any time from the Integrations panel.

    Read Only permissions only. This gives KoinX access to your full transaction history without the ability to place trades or move funds. Never generate an API key with broader permissions for a third-party service.

  <Accordion title="Do I need to enable API access before generating a key on CoinFalcon?">
    Yes. API access on CoinFalcon is disabled by default. Go to **Security** -> **API Keys** and enable it before clicking Add New Key. Without enabling API access first, the key generation option will not be available.

  <Accordion title="Do I need to report my CoinFalcon transactions for tax purposes?">
    Yes. If you are engaged in crypto transactions to generate profits, you are obliged to report them for tax purposes. Not reporting can lead to penalties or restrictions on your crypto portfolio.

## Troubleshooting

    Confirm API access is enabled and the key is set to read-only in **CoinFalcon** -> **Security** -> **API Keys**. Delete the credentials in KoinX and re-enter the key carefully - copy directly from CoinFalcon to avoid invisible characters.

  <Accordion title="Transactions are missing after sync">
    Ensure the transaction history covers the full period from your CoinFalcon account creation date with no gaps. Trigger a manual re-sync from **KoinX** -> **Integrations** -> **CoinFalcon**. If records are still missing, disconnect and reconnect with a fresh API key.

  <Accordion title="API access toggle is not saving on CoinFalcon">
    Clear your browser cache and retry enabling API access from **Security** -> **API Keys**. If the toggle still does not save, try a different browser or contact CoinFalcon support.

    Check the CoinFalcon platform for ongoing maintenance. If the platform is operational, verify the key is still active under **Security** -> **API Keys**. Regenerate if expired, re-enter credentials in KoinX, and trigger a fresh sync.

    CoinFalcon API keys can become inactive following account security changes. Log in to CoinFalcon, check the key status under **Security** -> **API Keys**, and regenerate if inactive. Update the new credentials in KoinX under **Integrations** -> **CoinFalcon** -> **Edit**.
