# How to Generate Your WEEX Tax Report with KoinX

> Connect your WEEX Exchange account to KoinX in a few steps to generate tax reports compliant with your local jurisdiction.

## Connect WEEX to KoinX

**API Key syncs your full WEEX transaction history automatically - no file exports needed.** WEEX requires a one-time API activation step before the key goes live.

    ## Generate your WEEX API key

      <Step title="Log in to WEEX on web">
        Go to [weex.com](https://www.weex.com) and sign in. API Management is only available on the web platform - not on mobile.

        Navigate to **Profile** -> **API Management** -> **Create New API**.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Fill in API details and verify">
        Enter a label for your key (e.g. `KoinX Taxation`), set permissions to **Read Only**, and complete the security verification.

          Enable **Read Only** permissions only. Never enable trading or withdrawal permissions on an API key connected to a third-party service.

      <Step title="Copy your API credentials">
        Copy all three values - **Passphrase**, **Access API Key**, and **Secret Key** - and store them securely. The Secret Key is shown only once and cannot be retrieved after you leave this screen.

      <Step title="Submit the WEEX API activation questionnaire">
        Submit the official API activation questionnaire provided by WEEX. Ensure all details match your WEEX account and the API credentials you just generated.

      <Step title="Wait for the activation confirmation email">
        WEEX sends a confirmation email once your API key is activated. Do not proceed to KoinX until this email arrives - the key will not work before activation.

    ## Connect WEEX to KoinX

        Log in to [app.koinx.com](https://app.koinx.com) -> **Integrations** -> **Add Integration**.

      <Step title="Select WEEX">
        Search for **WEEX** and select it.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Paste your credentials and import">
        Enter your **Passphrase**, **Access API Key**, and **Secret Key** -> click **Import Now**.
      </Step>

    <Check>
      **Done.** KoinX begins syncing your WEEX history. Large accounts may take a few minutes.

    Once your WEEX data is in, head over to [Tax Reports](https://app.koinx.com/tax-report) on KoinX - your capital gains, income breakdown, and country-specific crypto tax report are ready for you there.

    ## API key notes

    <Note>
      * **API activation is required before connecting** - wait for the WEEX confirmation email before adding credentials to KoinX.
      * **IP restrictions must be disabled** - if IP whitelisting is enabled on the key, KoinX servers will not be able to connect.
      * **Secret Key is shown once only** - copy and store it immediately at the time of creation.

    WEEX uses a manual activation step as an additional security and compliance measure. Fill in the official questionnaire with details that exactly match your WEEX account and API credentials. Mismatches delay or prevent activation.

  <Accordion title="What permissions does the WEEX API key need for KoinX?">
    Read Only permissions covering trades, ledger history, and withdrawals. Never enable withdrawal or trading permissions on any API key you connect to a third-party service.

  <Accordion title="Will WEEX show my Secret Key again after I leave the page?">
    No. WEEX displays the Secret Key only once at the time of creation. If lost, delete the key from API Management and generate a new one.

  <Accordion title="How long does WEEX API activation take?">
    Most users receive the confirmation email within a few hours. Do not attempt to connect in KoinX until the activation email arrives - the key will not work before then.

## Troubleshooting

    Confirm the activation email from WEEX has arrived and the key status shows as active in **API Management**. If active, delete the credentials in KoinX and re-enter all three values carefully - copy directly from WEEX to avoid invisible characters.

  <Accordion title="KoinX is only importing some of my WEEX transactions">
    Check that read access is enabled for trades, ledger, and withdrawals on the API key in **WEEX** -> **API Management**. If permissions cannot be edited, generate a new key with the correct permissions and update it in KoinX.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="WEEX API sync keeps failing">
    Check the WEEX platform for ongoing maintenance. If the platform is operational, verify the key is still active in **API Management**. Regenerate if expired, re-enter credentials in KoinX, and trigger a fresh sync.

  <Accordion title="API connection worked before but stopped syncing">
    WEEX API keys can become inactive after extended periods of non-use or following account security changes. Log in to WEEX, check the key status under **API Management**, and regenerate if inactive. Update the new credentials in KoinX under **Integrations** -> **WEEX** -> **Edit**.

  <Accordion title="KoinX shows a connection error immediately on sync">
    IP whitelisting is likely enabled on the key. Go to **WEEX** -> **API Management**, open the key settings, and remove all IP whitelist restrictions. KoinX does not use fixed outbound IPs, so IP restrictions must be disabled.

    Check **KoinX** -> **Integrations** for duplicate WEEX connections and remove any extras. If a CSV file was previously uploaded for the same date range, delete those transactions before re-syncing via API.
